Church From the Cab of a Big Rig

Four of us drive for a living. Eighteen wheels, long hours, home when the schedule allows it. We're all at different points in our faith. The one thing that connects us is that we miss our families for at least five days a week, every week.

Along with that, we battle loneliness, depression, and our health. Hardest of all is sowing the seeds of faith and watering those seeds while living on the road. No church on Sunday. No church on Wednesday. So that means church in the truck while headed down the interstate.

None of us are pastors. We're men working out what it means to follow Christ from the cab of a truck, reading scripture in a bunk, listening to sermons between stops, figuring it out at 3 a.m. with nothing but headlights.

Who this is for

Men who can't make a service. Who have people at home who need them present and a schedule that makes it nearly impossible. Who've been told to hustle harder and are already worn out.

If you've ever read a devotional written by someone who's never been gone eleven days straight, you know why we started this.

Who we are

I drive for Walmart. Before that, twenty-plus years in supply chain and operations, the kind of work where you either fix the system or keep breaking your back on it.

I'm married to my amazing best friend, Meagan. Most of what I've learned about faith came late and came hard, and for a long stretch there was nobody around to teach me any of it. That's most of the reason I'm writing this now.

I read the NLT Life Application Study Bible in the bunk and listen to Through the Word when I'm rolling. Still working through more than I've got figured out.
